We plan for an exciting winter snow trek in the Rumbak valley in Ladakh, during Jan/Feb Every Year.
Rumbak village & valley
Rumbak is a village in the Leh district of Jammu and Kashmir, India. It is located in the Leh tehsil and lies within Hemis National Park. It is located 3,960m above sea level.
The Rumbak valley is situated within the national park at an altitude of 4000m. It is home to a rich diversity of wildlife such as snow leopards, Tibetan wolves, blue sheep, Asiatic ibex, Ladakh urial and more. Several species of birds like golden eagles, vultures and migratory birds can also be seen.
Hemis National Park (or Hemis High Altitude National Park)
HNP is a high altitude national park in the eastern Ladakh region of the state of Jammu and Kashmir in India. The park is home to a number of species of endangered mammals, including the snow leopard.

Tour Itinerary
Day 01: – Arrive at Leh Airport 3505 meters / 11567 feet.
Arrive at Kushok Bakula airport Leh – 3500m above sea level. Transfer to hotel, Half Day at rest for acclimatization. After Lunch drive to Visit Shanti Stupa & Leh Palace, Later in the evening walk around local market. Dinner and overnight stay at a Hotel in Leh
Day 02: – Leh – Rumbak 32 Km
This is where the main part of your adventure starts. Zingchan is the entry point to the Rumbak Valley, the home of the Snow Leopard. The bleak landscape may look incapable of supporting life but look closer and you will be proven wrong. Even here, there are animals and birds uniquely evolved to handle life in a region like this, not to mention many people whose cultures and traditions have been shaped in some way or the other by the harshness of this land.

Day 03: – Rumbak
Continue on your quest for the mysterious Snow Leopard. Follow in this predator’s footsteps as you explore the area on foot with your amazing guide. But part of attaining a goal is the journey you take to get there. Don’t miss out on the enthralling insights into local folklore, and learning about customs and traditions. In addition, there’s always some amazing bird watching to be done.

Day 04: – Rumbak – uley 88km
Today we will travel from Rumbak to Uley. The landscape around Uley looks bleak and devoid of life at first glance. But this is so far from the truth! Birds, mammals, and more are plenty in this place, many of them found nowhere else in India. If time permits, we will do some light exploration of the landscape in and around Uley looking for birds, mammals, and more.
Day 05: – Uley
Today, we have the full day to explore all that Uley has to offer. Not only is Uley home to the elusive Snow Leopard, but also a variety of other mammals including Blue Sheep, Urial, Tibetan Wolf, and more, as well as a plethora of bird species such as Bearded Vulture, Chukar Partridge, Snow Pigeon, Brown, and Rock Accentors, Red-fronted Serin, and more.
Overnight stay.
Day 06: – uley – Hemis Shukpachan.
Today we bid farewell to Uley and head to the village of Hemis Shukpachan. This little village is a delight for photographers. Not only is it home to wildlife like Snow Leopard, Urial, Marmot, Blue Sheep, and a variety of birds, but it is also a great place to dive deep into local Ladakhi culture and experience it in a wholesome manner.
Day 07: – Hemis Shukpachan- Leh 68 km
We have the whole day today to experience the rich wildlife and even richer culture of Hemis Shukpachan. And evening transfer to leh
Day 08 : – Depart Leh – Kushok Bakula Airport
Morning after breakfast, transfer to airport board your flight towards Destination Covered, to enjoy yet again, a beautiful flight over the great Himalayas
